Job Description

Under general supervision, the Office Windows/Linux Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert on the desktop environment, contributing to a wide variety of projects in support of the DWS roadmap. Works under the direction of senior leadership and reports to the Manager of Digital Workplace Infrastructure. Duties will include some or all the following:

  • Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology related to the desktop environment

  • Maintain the standard operating desktop environment including drivers, applications, and standard configurations

  • Perform configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of both Linux and Windows platforms to include but not limited to base configuration, security and system patching, performance monitoring, etc.

  • Perform design, integration, and configuration of monitoring tools

  • Provide O/S hardening and system patching

  • Assist in application testing and OS upgrade/release management

  • Provide top-tier support of Linux and Windows Operating Systems, provide technical documentation and operational guidelines to global operations team

Job Requirements

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technology, or a related scientific or technical discipline is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience working in an ITIL aligned service delivery organization

  • Minimum 5 years of related experience

  • Produces detailed documentation and training guides when required

  • Knowledge of Windows, Mac, and Linux desktop platforms
